2. Description
This proposal advocates redirecting the majority of Syscoin’s masternode governance budget towards the Syscoin Foundation, specifically for the growth and development of Rollux, Syscoin’s Layer 2 solution. The main objective is to improve the management and allocation of resources to further increase the efficiency and effectiveness of protocol development and deployment on Rollux.

Previous experiences
Over the last 6 months, we were able to develop and deploy multiple protocols with the help of the Syscoin Ecosystem Funding Redirection and its subsequent report, but other previous experiences revealed challenges in governance funding, leading to incomplete projects and uncontrolled fund management. This proposal aims to capitalize on past successes while addressing these challenges, focusing on Rollux’s growth with a structured and accountable system.

Community Grants and Funding for the Rollux Ecosystem
While Syscoin and Rollux ecosystem members can still apply for grants, hackathon budgets, and more, the Syscoin Foundation will manage these funds, leading to quicker and more efficient decision-making, aligning with industry practices observed in other DAOs.

The rationale for this proposal is based on multiple factors, including the need for improved oversight, increased efficiency and fostering Rollux ecosystem growth:

Redirecting the budget to the Syscoin Foundation ensures greater accountability and effective resource utilization, addressing past issues of incomplete projects and poor execution specifically within the Syscoin ecosystem.

The Foundation’s management streamlines the funding process for Rollux, reducing decision-making time and enhancing legal backing, milestone monitoring, and overall efficiency compared to the legacy model.
4. Fostering Rollux Ecosystem Growth
This proposal seeks to support Rollux ecosystem growth by redirecting resources to impactful initiatives, including research and development, marketing, and community engagement specific to Rollux.
5. Goals & Objectives
The main objective of the Rollux Ecosystem Growth Proposal is the development of the Rollux ecosystem. The redirection of funds is intricately designed to fuel innovation, advance the creation of new Rollux-native projects, and expedite the deployment of existing protocols, with a particular emphasis on the field of Decentralized Finance (DeFi). The goals & objectives in mind are:

Ecosystem Development
The primary aim is to ensure that every facet of the Rollux ecosystem is actively nurtured and expanded. This includes technical enhancements, user experiences, and the overall richness of the ecosystem.

Drive Innovation
By allocating funds for innovation, we are aiming to inspire innovation and the development of Rollux Native Projects/Protocols. This encourages a dynamic and evolving environment, which can greatly expand the user base of Rollux.

Expanding the Ecosystem
The focus here is on fast-tracking the implementation of new projects and protocols, particularly those in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space. This strategic move aligns with the importance of DeFi for ecosystem growth.

User Adoption Initiatives
To ensure the practical utilization of Rollux protocols, we’ll implement initiatives that not only educate but also entice users to engage with the ecosystem. This involves user-friendly campaigns that simplify the onboarding process and highlight the benefits of using Rollux protocols.

Community Engagement & Growth
Beyond technical advancements, we aim to make the Rollux ecosystem vibrant by encouraging users to actively participate. Incentives, such as giveaways and rewards, are designed to attract and retain community members, fostering a sense of belonging. Strategic campaigns, coupled with marketing quests, will be employed to increase awareness, attract new participants, and solidify Rollux’s presence in the broader blockchain space.
6. Budget Distribution
Allocate 87,562 SYS per month, over six months. This amount will be strategically designed to provide the necessary fuel for the comprehensive development and achievement of our outlined objectives. This represents a change of extra 562 $SYS per month in regards to the current allocation. This additional amount is added to fill the whole superblock monthly budget.
7. Reporting
A final spending report will be provided at the end of the payment period (6 months), on the governance forums, with a focus on what was achieved in the proposal time.
8. Risks
Potential resistance from community members concerned about resource concentration is acknowledged. However, improved resource management, transparency, and efficiency, along with monthly reporting, aim to address these concerns within the Rollux ecosystem.
