This Act gives the community an opportunity to declare what it expects of Foundation board members in regard to transparency around Sentry node ownership. It is not an aspect of governance enforced by a protocol.
This proposal is aimed at enhancing the transparency, fairness, and decentralization the network’s governance processes. The Foundation Sentry Transparency Act helps ensure that the community has clear visibility into the ownership of Sentry nodes by board members of Syscoin Foundation or any similar organization representing the interests of Syscoin.
Syscoin thrives on the principles of decentralization and community trust. It is crucial to maintain these principles by addressing potential conflicts of interest and governance risks. Sentry nodes play a crucial role in our network’s governance. Given this pivotal role, it is essential to monitor whether any single entity or group, including foundation board members, disproportionately influence governance decisions.
