How to get a client to sync

If your client is stuck syncing, there are a couple of things you can try in order to fix it.

  1. Make sure you have the latest version (currently 4.1.3)
  2. If this doesn’t get your client to sync, reindex the client: How to reindex a Syscoin client
  3. If reindexing still doesn’t help try the following:
    1. Stop the client
    2. Rename The Syscoin data directory
    3. Start the client again
    4. If it still doesn’t sync,
      1. stop the client
      2. delete the newly generated data directory
      3. start the client
      4. repeat these sub-steps as often as required. it will work at some point.
    5. After it synced,
      1. stop the client again
      2. copy your wallet.dat, syscoin.conf, (and masternode.conf if you have masternodes), as well as the wallets folder from your initial data directory to the newly created one, replacing the generated files.
      3. start the client and enjoy the syscoin network.
