This proposal outlines the structure, responsibilities, and funding requirements for the operational teams and core services that keep the Syscoin ecosystem running. It highlights current operational needs, ongoing responsibilities, and the long-term vision for ecosystem growth and adoption.
Scaling the Ecosystem with zkSYS and EdgeChain Innovation
Following the launch of Nexus, the Syscoin ecosystem has entered an exciting new phase focused on accelerating real-world adoption and scaling Bitcoin via modular, AI-driven EdgeChains. Central to this evolution is zkSYS, Syscoin’s first modular zk-based EdgeChain. Over the next three months, each operational team will play a pivotal role in advancing the ecosystem by supporting zkSYS, developing cutting-edge infrastructure such as AI-powered Sentry nodes and the Bitcoin Bridge, and laying the groundwork for broader EdgeChain deployment.
Rollux will remain operational during this transition, but all new development efforts, partner integrations, and promotional activities will now center on zkSYS as the flagship solution within Syscoin’s modular stack. Below is a detailed overview of each team’s key objectives and deliverables during this critical phase.
General Operations
The General Operations team plays a central role in ensuring the seamless execution of Syscoin’s strategic roadmap. Over the next quarter, their primary focus will be coordinating multi-departmental efforts around the migration to zkSYS, maintaining alignment across teams, and tracking key milestones. As ecosystem activity intensifies, they will oversee budgeting, contributor management, and internal coordination to keep operations efficient and transparent. In parallel, they will expand operational workflows to support the onboarding of new partners and contractors, ensuring the ecosystem can scale smoothly as adoption grows
Servers, RPC & Infrastructure
The Infrastructure team will continue supporting and enhancing the foundational systems underpinning Syscoin, Rollux, and zkSYS. Their immediate focus is provisioning, securing, and optimizing key services such as RPC endpoints, DNS management, critical dApps (including block explorers, canonical bridges, and faucets), as well as comprehensive uptime monitoring across all networks. Simultaneously, they will ensure Rollux remains stable throughout the transitional phase. As ZKsys scales, the team will proactively establish infrastructure for integrating Zero-Knowledge Data Availability (zkDA), building a robust foundation to support future EdgeChains and data-intensive decentralized applications.
Syscoin Technical & Ecosystem Team
The Technical & Ecosystem team is responsible for driving the migration of core infrastructure and developer-facing tooling to zkSYS. In the coming months, their focus will include protocol improvements, finalizing integration documentation, and supporting deployments for dApps such as SuperDapp, Pegasys, and Luxy on zkSYS. They will also lead technical R&D around next-gen features such as the Bitcoin Bridge, which enables decentralized, trustless BTC transfers between Bitcoin and Syscoin via BitVM and ZKPs. In tandem, work will continue on AI inference nodes, the Sentry node registry, and zkRollup optimizations—establishing the technical framework for an ecosystem of scalable and intelligent appchains. This team ensures that as the modular vision expands, its foundation remains technically robust and developer-ready.
Marketing & PR
Over the next three months, marketing efforts will focus on positioning zkSYS as the first real-world implementation of the EdgeChain vision—an extension of Bitcoin, secured by Proof-of-Work and enhanced with modular scalability for the Web3 era. The team will launch a multi-layered marketing strategy to grow awareness, drive user acquisition, and increase $SYS adoption. Central to this will be a series of targeted incentive campaigns designed to onboard new users, attract liquidity, and activate community participation across zkSYS-powered applications.
These campaigns will be supported by broader ecosystem-wide efforts, including educational content, visual storytelling, promotional materials for zkSYS-integrated dApps, and brand narratives highlighting innovations like AI-powered Sentry nodes, zkDA, and the Bitcoin Robin Bridge.
Marketing will also carry the broader message that Syscoin is not just another blockchain—it is the modular, intelligent extension of Bitcoin’s security model, purpose-built for scalable and decentralized applications. Through content campaigns, AMAs, community challenges, and partner showcases, the team will target developers, institutions, and end-users alike, ensuring that Syscoin’s next-generation capabilities are seen, understood, and adopted.
Business Development & Ecosystem Expansion
The Business Development team is dedicated to a clear mission: attracting high-quality projects and partnerships into the Syscoin ecosystem, particularly those eager to build on zkSYS or launch their own EdgeChains. Over the coming months, our team will collaborate closely with developers, founders, and companies, guiding them through Syscoin’s modular stack capabilities and streamlining their onboarding journey.
A critical component of our strategy involves securing robust integrations with wallets, exchanges, and infrastructure providers. Our aim is to enhance accessibility and usability of zkSYS through token support, wallet integrations, liquidity incentives, and more, ensuring seamless experiences for both users and dApps.
We are also proactively building relationships across sectors including DeFi, gaming, identity, AI, and notably, mining infrastructure partners. Recognizing the importance of mining hash as a cornerstone of Syscoin’s security and optics, we are actively mending and strengthening these crucial partnerships. This renewed commitment to mining relations underscores our dedication to reinforcing Syscoin’s foundational strength.
In response to past onboarding experiences, we are establishing rigorous quality control measures for incoming projects. This structured approach goes beyond formal MOUs, ensuring projects demonstrate genuine capability and commitment before integration. Our objective is to significantly reduce partner attrition rates and foster meaningful, sustainable ecosystem growth.
Ultimately, our goal is positioning Syscoin not merely as another blockchain, but as a dynamic, future-proof platform offering Bitcoin-grade security and unparalleled flexibility, perfectly suited for next-generation applications and economies.
Developers (Protocol, dApps, Rollups, Bridges)
The developer team will focus heavily on optimizing the zkSYS rollup, enhancing bridge functionality, and implementing infrastructure for upcoming features like BitVM-based contracts and zk-proof based bridges. Their work enables real-world deployment of intelligent, trustless infrastructure across zkSYS, while maintaining compatibility with Syscoin’s base chain and Bitcoin.
This team will also contribute to R&D across several key innovations:
-
Finalizing the Bitcoin Bridge to enable BTC interoperability with Syscoin EdgeChains.
-
Building out Sentry node capabilities, including AI model execution (i.e LLM inference) for decentralized applications like ai agents for decentralized governance and market analysis.
-
Preparing the architecture for zkDA integration, allowing scalable data access for apps that require higher throughput and availability.
While Rollux will continue to operate for a transition period, the developer team’s focus is now firmly on building the future of the modular stack—scalable, interoperable, and ready for intelligent applications.
Budget Overview
This three-month proposal covers the necessary funding to sustain the foundational operations of Syscoin, including infrastructure, development resources, basic marketing activities, essential administration, and community support. At present, our budget supports a lean, stability-focused approach, prioritizing the continuous and reliable functioning of the ecosystem without actively pursuing extensive growth.
Looking ahead, we are committed to strategically expanding Syscoin’s adoption and reach, particularly emphasizing zkSYS. Achieving broader impact will necessitate targeted investments in marketing, deeper strategic partnerships, enhanced infrastructure, and increased community engagement. Future proposals will be submitted to address these growth objectives through specific campaigns and initiatives, provided that market conditions and budget availability align favorably.
Maintaining transparency is essential. We will clearly outline budget utilization across key categories such as infrastructure, development, management, marketing, and community activities, ensuring open communication with the Syscoin community.
We greatly appreciate the continuous support from the Syscoin community during this financially restrictive phase. To navigate current funding constraints effectively, we’ve implemented prudent cost-saving strategies, including voluntary deferment of contractor compensation.
This proposal is designed to secure immediate stability while preparing the groundwork for focused, incremental expansion through forthcoming proposals, contingent upon favorable market conditions.
