Proposal Reasoning

When we submitted the “Scaling the Ecosystem with zkSys and Edgechain Innovation” proposal, SYS was trading above $0.05. Since then, the price has moved both up and down—but unfortunately, during the actual governance payout windows, it’s been consistently under our budgeted assumptions.

We’ve absorbed the shortfall ourselves and have made further internal cuts to stay under budget wherever possible. But that approach has limits, and relying on it long-term would undermine the consistency and pace we’ve worked hard to maintain.

To keep things on track, we’re submitting this supplementary proposal.

Its purpose is to:

  • Offset the shortfall created by lower-than-expected payout values
  • Reflect internal cost-saving efforts already made
  • Keep deliverables moving without depending on personal subsidies
  • Let governance function based on real conditions, not assumptions

We are now approaching the end of our current 3-month proposal cycle. As part of our commitment to transparency and accountability, a follow-up proposal will be submitted for the next 3 months. It will include a clear breakdown of what has been accomplished during the current period—deliverables met, milestones reached, and key progress made across zkSys and Edgechain.

It will also outline our objectives for the next phase: what we intend to ship, improve, and expand upon. This ensures the Syscoin Community has full visibility into how resources are used and how the project continues to deliver value to the Syscoin ecosystem.

This supplementary proposal is not about extending scope, it’s simply to close the loop on the current cycle under fair and sustainable conditions.
